We left Mount Remarkable and have headed 200-odd kms West across the Eyre Peninsular and have stopped overnight at a campsite at a little conservation park. There are no facilities here and we weren't expecting to see anyone else at all until two blokes turned up in a ute and warned us that one of them was having his bucks party (or stag do) in the campsite and that they were expecting a lot of people to turn up. With typical Australian hospitality they invited us to join in, but we thought it would probably be safer if we found somewhere else to stay. Luckily we found a lovely spot near a little waterhole that was far away enough for us to not hear them so stayed there. Some other cars came passed looking for the party and they told us that there were yabbies in the waterhole and we should have a go at catching some for dinner (he also said that there were ducks there and that he had a gun in the car we could borrow if we wanted - another good reason for not going to the party, maybe!) so we got a line with some bait and had our first go at yabbying. Jess did manage to catch one, but it let go of the bait just before she got it to the shore. Next time.
