We got let in! Woohoo!
It was all actually rather dull and straightforward. The (English!) immigration officer swiped our passports, said "Welcome to Australia" and that was it. The only excitement came when the extremely efficient quarantine people had to take away our shoes and wash them for us as they were a bit muddy (and a bit smelly...). Then the (English!) taxi driver dropped us off at our house (it actually belongs to Danny's Mum and her partner Brian, but it's ours for the next month as they're in England - party on!).
It is bonza here (we have been doing a lot of practise getting in with the local lingo). We had our first schooner of beer this evening and Danny placed a bet on a race while we were in the pub (just to fit in). The horse was called "Danny B Good", but unfortunately he wasn't.
We are really enjoying staying in a house after a couple of months living in hostels. Little things like having a sofa to sit on, being able to make a cup of tea when you want one and not having to worry about bed bugs seem to make a lot of difference! And being able to eat cheese again is great!
We've already thought of a couple of day trips to do from here, so will put details of them on here so you can see what South Australia is like. Other than that there may not be too much activity on here until we find our camper van and set off around the country, hopefully in about 6 weeks time.
On an exciting side note, we bought the local paper today to look for camper vans and jobs. I decided to have a brief look through the pet section, just in case, and they had a wallaby for sale! That will be a nice surprise for Danny's Mum and Brian when they get back!
