We are staying on a beautiful little island, just 6km off the mainland. It is only about 2km long, and is very quiet and empty. The beach is really lovely, white sand, palm trees etc. Apparently the snorkelling is excellent here, but unfortunately we arrived round about the same time as a huge swarm (??) of jellyfish, which one of the guys at the place we were staying reliably informed us weren't lethal, but hurt. Lots. Oh well, a couple of days to spend with nothing more energetic to do but reach out for my book or a cold beer. Life is tough.
