Today we drove from Coos Bay to Seaside Oregon. Another amazing drive today and it's definitely clear that Oregon is our favourite. It was so beautiful and sunny, with amazing green scenery with lakes and creeks everywhere. We love it.
Our first major attraction today was the Sea Lion Caves. After paying the small fee, we walked to the lookout point to watch the sea lions sleeping on the rocks and swimming in the water near their cave. Thanks to Manda's camera, I got some great pictures I think and Danny captured all the loud noises they make with the video camera
We then travelled via elevator 215ft down to their cave. It was quite a site to see them in their habitat. The attraction has been built on their cave so no boating was required to see all of this.
Our second attraction for the day was the Tillamook Air Museum which is held in Hangar B, built by the US Navy to hold the K-class blimps during WWII. They had some 20 odd planes in the hangar which while they looked like models, were very real and are still flown on occasion. Quite evident by the oil leaking on the floor under some planes. I was too awestruck by their size to pay much attention to the information, but I got some pretty pictures and I have Danny to fill me in on the details later on.
We are spending the next 2 nights in Seaside which is a great beachside holiday town. Can't wait to walk the shops tomorrow and buy some knick-knacks.
