From Dan:
Keep in mind I am going to be writing the next few blog entries way after the fact, so they're not exactly fresh in my mind...

AfterThe ride from Atl to Birmingham was pretty uneventful, by this point I had been in the South for about three weeks, and had actually already been through Birmingham with my Dad, so the trip at this point really wasn't falling into "the new and exciting category". Anyway we got to Birmingham in the early afternoon, and after dealing with the screwed up mapquest directions (it turns out that there is a big difference between 7th street and East 7th Street) we finally arrived at our destination, the lovely Hospitality Inn. It was actually anything but lovely, It looked like it hadn't been updated since 1965 and smelled like an old attic, but it got the job done for the night, and was kind of funny in a "I'm glad we're going to get the hell out of here tiomorrow morning" kind of way. After we checked in we headed over to the Mark Broussard concert. Overall the concert was pretty good, he is a singer/songwriter who has a bluesy/soul/pop style. This was more of Josh's thing (I think he has seen him four times so far) but i had a good time. I can never complain when Josh gets us in for free, I can't wait for his Rolling Stone article to come out (actually I think I'll be waiting quite a whiole, haha).
