SO the full moon party came and went. It was definitely everything I had heard it would be. What made the biggest impression were the masses of people on the beach, and in the bars, and in the ocean and in the streets. There were people everywhere! Supposedly around 10,000 but that is kind of a tough thing to judge. And just about every one was drinking and dancing, I even busted out a few moves, which isn't necessarily a good thing. What was also interesting was that there really weren't any boundaries to the party, you could just wander in to any bar or building and there were no lines to get in, or even walls for that matter (all the restaurants and bars are pretty much open air.) I guess what I'm trying to say is that the mass of people was pretty fluid. Definitely not like anything I have seen before.

Honestly, you didn't even need to drink to be entertained there. It seemed like every time I turned around there was something cool or strange going on. Just some examples: Young thai guys swinging around these chains that are dipped in some kind of lighter fluid and set on fire, people up to their hips in the ocean dancing, people shooting off fire crackers in the air and at their friends, six year oldsw alking around selling glow sticks, random fights breaking out, girls walking around with no tops on (you should delete that part when you show this to gramma, Dad), people being 'amorous' on the beach, people being passed out on the beach (and in the bars), drunk guys unaware that the thai lady there are happily dancing with wasn't born that way ;), and one white guy doing some pretty awkward dance moves (one guess who that was;).

So all in all an interesting night, I ended up calling it a night at 3:30 which is about as early as people turn in for the Full Moon Party, my roomate came back around 8 in the morning and I took a look outside and there was still a very large group of people dancing away to techno music on the beach. As I wrote in my last entry (don't worry it was beautiful out today and I am in a much better mood), I am definitely ready to move on from here. It's been fun but I feel like I want to do something a little more productive, so hopefully tomorrow morning I will be heading to the island of Koh Tao to take some SCUBA diving lessons, I'll let you know how it goes...

I guess the internet connection is too slow to upload photos right now, but don't worry I took a bunch. It is actually good that I am keeping this blog because it makes me take pictures that I other wise wouldn't, which is good in the end, because as much of a pain as it is to bring my camera around, I am always psyched to have pictures when I get home.
