Where I stayed
Well we had our last day in Prague and it was good not to have to rush to get to our flight. Morning flights always stress me out! We had a really good sleep from all our walking the day before and found it easy to get to the airport. From there we flew to Brussels and when we walked out we walked straight into Paul's bakery. My favourite french bakery which serves up the best and biggest macaroons and yummy to die for pastries. I didnt actually realise that Beligum was a french speaking country. In the train station we were also eyeing off some belgium chocolates but thought we would wait till we came back from Holland to take our time to experience Belgian chocolates. From Brussels we caught the train to Amsterdam and my cousin Linda was lovely enough to come from Amsterdam to pick us up saving us a late train trip to Utrecht where they live.
My uncle who lives in Holland is my mum's older brother and he and his wife have three daughters Linda who is 21, Anita who is 19 and Wendy who is 16. My uncle's wife and I get along extremely well and her english is excellent making it very easy for me to communicate with her. The last time I came to visit them was back in 2006 and that was my first time and I admit I was nervous last time but I immediately felt at ease with them and they do everything to make you feel very welcome. My aunty is taking Thursday and Friday off to take us to Amsterdam and Rotterdam for some sightseeing. They were really happy to see us and it was hugs all round.
We got a little lost in the car with them in Amsterdam. The roads are terribly difficult to navigate, the place is like a maze. It was nice to be welcomed into their home with a hot cup of tea. We stayed up to 1am chatting and just catching up (poor Daniel). Im looking forward to the next couple of days just catching up with them and learning about dutch people.
Love to you all
Ly and Daniel
