After our stay in Melbourne we caught a night bus up to Sydney. We wanted to stop off at Canberra but found it impossible to book a room, but from what I've heard we aren't really missing out. Once we arrived in Sydney we jump straight onto a train to the Blue Mountains. 2 hours later we arrived in Katoomba, one of the biggest town in the Blue Mountains. We didn't get up to much on our first day as we were tired from the 12 hour night bus! But we did have lunch at a fantastic vegetarian cafe. Whilst in the blue mountains we visited all the famous sites, such as the 3 sisters. There is a place called 'Scenic World' which has various attractions to explore the fantastic scenery. Firstly we went on a ride called the Skyway which takes you across the gorge & has a glass bottom. Then we got the scenic railway (steepest passenger train in the world at a 52 degree angle!) to the rainforest floor. Here we took a walk around the rainforest boardwalks. Then we caught the cableway up again. All rides gave great scenery. After the rides we took a 2 km walk along the cliff where we viewed waterfalls & cascades. Finally we took a walk down the Giant Stairway to the 3 sisters. Anyway the pictures are much more interesting than my words.
