Next stop, Melbourne. We arrived in Melbourne after a long night bus from Adelaide. We stayed at Flinders Station Backpackers, which was actually quite nice & right in the city centre, also got a really good weekly room rate. Melbourne is a great city, personally I prefer it to Sydney. However still not loving the cold! We were in Melbourne for a week. Some days were spent wandering round the shops & along the river. One of the days we caught a tram out to St Kilda (a district of Melbourne on the coast) where there are some really nice cafes & cake shops & a really naf theme park called Luna Park. On the Saturday we went to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) to watch a game of Aussie Rules (Collingwood v St Kilda). It took a little while to grasp the rules (eg. the ref throwing the ball randomly over his shoulder when it the ball goes out of play) but it was good fun, Dan particularly enjoyed it. We also did the 'Neighbours Tour'. First was the day tour which included visits to Erinborough High, Carpenters Mechanics, Grease Monkeys & of course Ramsey street Aussie Rules at the MCG

. The street is a lot smaller than it seems on the tv & felt a bit intrusive as ordinary people live there & have to put up with tourists everyday. During the day we also met Dr Karl Kennedy & Rosie. Dr.K was loving it! In the evening we went to a bar in St Kilda for the Neighbours trivia night, where we met Dr. K (again!), Dilan, Max, & Libby Kennedy (who hasn't been in Neighbours for years, but apparently is staging a comeback). Libby also performed with her band & of course Dr K also performed with his band 'Waiting Room'. Anyway enough of Neighbours. In our time in Melbourne we also visited the Crown Casino, the biggest in oz & Victoria Market, a massive market of just about anything you could think of. All in all Melbourne is a great city. Will add pics soon.
