After last nights big cocktail shenanigans it was a slow start and an early get up was not what was needed. Luckily check out wasn't until 12 so we had time to chill in the hotel and Dan even went for a walk around Miami for a last minute photo op. As we headed back to the car we passed the infamous spot where Rich "apprently" pushed Dan into the bush although the evidence was inconclusive. Just around the corner from the car lot was the Ice Cream Store that featured in the 2nd series of Jersey Shore (a reality show like The Only Way Is Essex and Geordie Shore). Tourist Dan went for some pineapple gelato which left Rich and Dave to enjoy the continuous running of the shore on the tv in the shop. Then it was back to the car and for our first big drive of the holiday.

Rich took the reins and was an excellent driver, but despite this Dave, who was still feeling the effects of 3 pints of strawberry margaritas, had a moment in the back seat. Put it this way the souvenir plastic bags came in very handy and the car park attendent at the Popeye's Chicken just off the I-95 is in for a surprise. At around 2pm we got to a roadside Denny's for lunch. All you can eat pancakes were on offer and Rich took up the challenge. Dan and Dave had a sausage slam but the real slamming was on Rich's plate where 5 large pancakes got owned and dissapeared into the bottomless pit that is Rich's stomach.

Next it was Big D's turn to take the wheel and after several laps of the car park to get his eye in it, we were back on the I-95 heading to Orlando. After a very steady drive the clouds started to gather and then it struck....a huge tropical storm descended on the Meatmobile. Rain like none of us had ever seen and sheet lightning that lit up the sky. At several points the rain was so intense that the mighty Impala had to have a rest on the hard shoulder as visability was reduced to only a few yards. Despite this, several American boca's were driving without lights making it even more dangerous.

After serveral terrifying miles and an aborted mission to the Kennedy Space Centre we headed towards Orlando where blue skies awaited us. We pulled into a local Travelodge which would be our home for night 3 of our trip. A brief walk for alcohloic supplies and some snap took us around the beautiful Lake Eola and we got to spend some quality time with the local swans. After an action packed day we were ready for a well earned beer and a rest. Night night blog fans!
