Who and Why?

You may ask yourself who I am, but you probably won't be able to answer. Actually, I ask myself that question everyday, and I can't even answer it. The point I'm trying to make is that the following collection of stories and rants and whatever is a brief glimpse into who I am. It is a portal into my psyche so to speak, and what you find here, much like my psyche I guess, is very flawed and often ridiculous. So why do I bother? I bother because like many people, I guess I'm sort of an exhibitionist. I like people to know who I am, and in this controlled environment, behind this computer screen, I can hide very well and still reveal a lot about me.

Not Me

Anyway, let me give you the real basics about me, just so you know. I was born on August 1, 1979 in Ancon, Panama and I moved to Washington, DC shortly after. I've lived in various places around the country and the world, but I am through and through American, albeit a naturalized American. I've moved back into the area, and now have lived in DC since 2002, and I did spend some hours studying at one of the nice universities in this area. Prior to that, I lived in a small state called Arkansas (you may have heard of it, but most haven't). I've also lived (sorta) briefly in Germany, Wisconsin, California and Belgium. I worked for years in the lucrative non-profit sector of DC, where I accumulated a wealth upwards of 1,000 dollars. Jealous? I thought so. Of course, now I do more important (read: higher paying) stuff, well at least for a little while.

I also chose this website for several reasons. One, I love this website. Its one of my favorite places to surf, and I have several pods that I check regularly, and I'm always looking for more stories. Second, travel is a big part of my life. It's the one thing I do really well, and its my second favorite activity in the world besides soccer (which incidentally I do often, but not often so well). So as my pod on this site blossoms, I hope to give you my insights on travel as well as my boring, conceited, and often tedious insights into my life.
