Howdy folks,

Well its been a busy week for sure. On Tuesday, Steffie flew back to Germany to visit her family and friends so we had to drop her at Calgary Airport for a 5:30pm flight. I hired a Dodge Caravan and after 4 hours sleep Steffie, Dave, Adam, Leo, Susanna, Louiselle and I drove down to Calgary. Steffie checked in and we drove to a shopping centre for a late lunch. We then said our goodbyes at the airport once more and drove back to Banff with a few stops at Walmart and Sobeys along the way. When I got back, I had a nice 15 minute nap before going to work.

On Wednesday morning, I finished work at 7am and picked up Dave, Adam and Louiselle and we went out to Vermillion Lakes to watch the sunrise. It was really beautiful to see the sun rising behind Rundle Mountain standing on the frozen lake. We drove up to Mount Norquay to have a look at the view of Banff and also around to the Hoodoos. It was a bit chilly in the morning - a cool -15 degrees, but the days are still warming up to around zero. Finally I went to sleep at 10am after returning the car .

On Thursday and Friday I went snowboarding up at Sunshine for the 15th and 16th times in 3 months. There hasn't been too much snow in February and as a result all the runs were pretty well groomed and powderless. There were still some good views from Wawa and Mt Standish. On Thursday I went alone, but on Friday I met Marc and Christian up on the hill. Thursday was also games night at Adams house and we played my favourite game - Settlers of Catan. It was hilarious and we had a good turnout on the night.

I went to work on Friday night and after I woke up on Saturday I went for a walk on the frozen Bow River with Adam. We walked out past the Cave and Basin towards Sundance Canyon and it is such a bizarre feeling to be walking on a river that only 6 months ago I was canoeing on! They even have an ice rink near the Canoe Docks. The walk took 2 hours and it was nice just to get out of the house for a change.

Pretty busy week, my body clock is suffering!

Myrthe on

Walmart is always a good way to help fight the sadness of goodbye ;-). Oh, I love settles of Catan as well, too bad we didn't have it with us in the US! Seems like you're having a good time up there in Canada, you must be a prof snowboarder by now ;-), maybe I should move there and there would be hope for me to ever learn how to ski =P. Hope you're doing fine! Xx
