Well, it has been a few weeks since I've written in my blog so here goes another. I 've been busy working on my painting. It seems as if my work is coming along rather well, in my opinion. I've been doing work on a lot of local archtecture. Mainly the work consists of abstractions of local public housing. I don't know, I see a lot of beauty in these buildings. Tell me what you guys think of them.

Other things, The weather is getting cooler. Last night, we had this big storm come in. It rained a lot. In the morning as we walked down to get a bus to the bazaar, There was fresh snow in the mountains. It was gorgeous!

We went to see the new film Volver by Pedro Almodovar the other night. I enjoyed the film. Afterwards, Zhanara and some of our friends went down to a Moroccan restaurant and celebrated our friend Eleanora's birthday.

We've been been rather busy lately. Things have begun to get going for us around here. I'm trying to do as much work as possible. Zhanara has started on her work. We've been hanging out with a lot of the local artists.

Lately we've been entertaining a lot. We've had Bakytjan(Zhanara's brother) over for a few days. Then, Eleanora came to stay with us. Arman was over for dinner several nights last week. Last night we had Kuanysh, Saule, Macia, and little Medina over for Beshbarmak( This is a Kazakh specialty dish of pasta, meats and if you're lucky, horse sausage-Kazy) and some Spanish Wine. This was perfect for the fall chill. To garnish this dish we've discovered that fresh home made Mexican Salsa is perfect!

I'm gonna get the rumor out that Tania and Nick are coming to see us here in Almaty. Tania says there's a flight from karachi city(Where Tania is doing her fieldwork) in Pakistan. So we really can't wait to see them!

How's Atlanta,California? New York? Brooklyn? L.A.? Santa Cruz? Berkeley? Oakland? Sonoma County? San Jo? San Francisco? Jersey? Baltimore, Montreal(Nick) Corte Madera? Please write to me all. I miss you guys.

what? No mention of Atlanta?
Just thought you might want to know that Atlanta's just fine. I'm sitting on my porch in the afternoon sun right now (OK, not really, but I could be)
