Failed! First attempt for Syria visa
May 13, 2010
Today was the day I wanted to get the visa for Syria. I arrived at the embassy early in the morning by taking the metro. I get through security and everything was fine till I was rejected the visa. After arguing with the guy about my situation, he still wouldn't process a visa for me. All he really said was that only Egyptian residents can apply for the visa and for me to just try at the border. I was soo pissed off and just left. I wasn't just angry because of the visa, but also how I had to wake up early and pay money for the metro. It wasn't a lot of money, but still. I wasted my time. I arrived back at the hostel and was invited to join Alecia, an Australian girl from Darwin, in visiting the citidal. So we went by taxi and walked around. It was ok, nothing too spectacular. I have been eating koshary, an egyptian dish consisting of rice, pasta, garbanzo beans, lentils, tomato sauce, and topped with fried onions and more spicy sauce. It was filling and cheap, a whole 85 cents. I was also eating their pizza because it was as well 5 Egyptian pounds. These two meals are what's on the menu for the next couple of days.
