18th April 2007 - Picton, New Zealand
We had a leisurely day today as we only had to go a hundred or so km up the road to Picton, ready to get the ferrry tomorrow to Wellington. Before we left Kaikoura we visited the nearby seal colony although there wasn't too many around this morning, just a couple in the long grass and one fast asleep on a bed of seaweed. We then drove up to Picton, a nice enough harbour town but extremely quiet and not really anything to do unless visiting the Marlborourgh Sounds. More thumbnails ...
