Yeah New York!

Arts and architecture, Jewish Deli's and old bubbies, central park and the zoo, nut vendors and wicked drum buskers at grand central station.

It was so nice to finally explore the city I know so well through film. Looking up at the monumental sky scrappers and tall buildings, I couldn't help but feel like just around the corner, the stay-puft marshmallow man would peek his rolly polly white head out and begin stomping an unintentional frenzy all over the already intense streets that filled my sight.

What to say... new york, new york.... that says it all. As I've been ranting about for the past few entries, everything about this "adventure before the journey" has been so perfect because it was the chance to re-connect with family before we leave. New York was no exception. I had the opportunity to connect with my fathers sister, Faggie and her husband, my uncle Bernie. They are such a wonderful, warm and welcoming couple. They took us into their home like family should. It feels really good to connect with this side of my family which I've never really had the chance to do so with. For that matter, within the last few years I've been connecting with my sisters, Lianne and susan and my brother Rob and his wife Jill. Come to think about it, I'm liking where this is going... Thanks again Aunty Faggie and Uncle Bernie for your gracious hospitality...

I'll leave it at this for now. Tomorrow we fly to Bangkok....
