OK, so after much thought and intense contemplation Eileen and Daniel have made a major decision....

We have calculated the cost of all travel-fare throughout the next 6 months in Thailand and compared it with another option.

As it was, bus fare and Tuk Tuk's where the means of transportation for Fullung (foreigners) traveling through Thailand, and everyone here knows that these fares can be over-priced.  We did our research and concluded that it would be a good idea to purchase a motor bike and travel Thailand on two wheels.....

Silence?........ Questions?.....  Concern?....... More Silence perhaps????....

We know that we made a "more adventurous" decision, and yes we know we are in a land foreign to ours, where the rules are different, the streets are a little unusual, and we don't even speak Thai S'all we need.
S'all we need.
.

But here us out (moms, dads, brothers, sisters, and other family with concern):
The land may be foreign, but we are remarkably adaptable....
The streets may be unusual, but we aren't usual either....
And the first language spoken is not English, but the second one sure is....

I don't know how to break the news on a little computer screen over a virtual message... so bear with me please... I'm trying my best.

We have imagined a countryside of heaven. Rolling hills and rice terraces... Mountains and Golden sunsets. Where every village may hold an experience for us and every Provence a new adventure.

We will make every Kilometer known and every bathroom break interesting.
On more than one occasion, we will fill our camera memory stick, and empty our gas tank over and over again Yarr... I'll run ye over with me Motarr Bike
Yarr... I'll run ye over with me Motarr Bike
.
We will sweat heavily in our helmets and bare the strong winds on our chests.

I hoping you're catching our dream here....
And besides, Traveling by bus is sooo 2006.

This decision holds a whole new chapter in our travels out east. We will no-doubtably remember these next few months for the rest of our lives. So here in Chiangmai we begin, and where we end up we do not.... oh wait, I do know... we leave from Bangkok in Mid April.. (on to Nepal). But thats another story... and the relevance is that it is there in Bangkok where we will sell this vessel of ours.

We call her.... "Neung" (the pronunciation is in-between "NUNG" and  "NING"... "NEUNG!"  It means "ONE" in English... it is the number before two and after zero. Relating to the unity of the Universe and our world... and applied to the philosophy that "we are all one," connected and the same. This name is powerful in it's simplicity and dramatic in it's meaning. Also, the mechanic working on it was named Neung.... He was very nice..... and we'll, I suppose he still is.

I will end with this, and hope everyone reading can conjure up strength for us and bless us on our way. For now I will quote a poet by the name of Novelis... Truly, a powerful statement for our quest:

"Where are we really going?.... Always home"
