Like any dream, good or bad, eventually fades away when the alarm goes off in the morning, my American journey is coming to an end after two epic months.

I was out with friends and co-workers last night and am still feeling kinda fuzzy, slightly hungover - but I'm afraid of the moment when the pill I popped earlier will wear out - and generally sad. Not becuase I'm going back to Europe, I am actually excited by the prospect of being home, then a week in Italy for Tiziano and Joy's wedding, then London again, school and all the rest.

It's just that I realy felt at home here, people at the magazine are amazing to work and have fune with. And working for the magazine was extremely cool in the first place.

But my goals have been achieved. The editors  realy like my work and it seems like we'll be starting an ongoing collaboration that, I hope, will eventually result in a job and, more importantly, in assignments around the world. I totally dig the idea of Dani the Foreign Correspondent! It is after all the reason why I got into journalism years ago, and I was looking forward to my dreams coming true.

Coming out from work the other day at sunset I saw some birds flying in the purple sky, and I thought I cool must be to be able to fly  like them. Completely free, helping each other to win the currents, and with the incredible privilege to see the world from above, enjoying a wider and more detached angle.

Then I realised that I too am flying, I am a strong and brave bird who has flown further than anybody else in my family, finding like-minded friends that have become my life companion and that support my exploration of the world.

I am priviliged, I am talented, I am strong and ambitious. I am lucky, I have friends, and relatives who loves, a lover who is proud to share her life with me and that is an  endless inspiration.

It's time to catch a different sort of flight now, time to leave a dimension that has proved hard but also dear for the past two months, and beginning a new chapter of my story.

Tomorrow comes today.

Stay Tuned for my final travelogue wrap up entry from London.
