So, HI World!
And greetings to you all Facebookkers!
Here I am, writing on my laptop, sitting in Bryant Park in Manhattan. Free wi-fi internet..New York is really cool, and today the weather is awesome too.
Where to begin...? First couple of days were a bit confusing, I was aslo really tired and jet-lagged, so, on Wednesday, after checking the fireworks for July 4 near Brooklyn Bridge, I just crashed at the first place I found on my path.
But yesterday I moved to this amazing 'hostel' in Harlem that I fell in love with big time (see pic).
The Landlady is a character, this middle aged Canadian woman called Giselo that is running this place in a bizarre way: you get only one key for the front door, there is no reception or anything else, and it feels more like a houseshare than a hostel, eheh. Actually, more like a squat really....maybe that's why I like it.
Tonight I will meet one of the editors of NEED, the magazine I'll be working for in Minneapolis. Am really excited by their project and looking forward to know more. On Monday I'll be moving towards New Orleans to work on my first piece for them, just a online follow-up of one of their stories, but, hey, it's a start!
Ok, Stay Tuned for more. ciao for now.

Rates is 25 bucks a night in 6-bed dorm, and there is no web site as far as I know.

Fire escape (reply) Aug 10, 2007 17:38 EST by radsolv
Can't resist. 'It is strictly forbidden to go on the fire escape.'
No exceptions. In case of fire use the elevators!
