Siem Reap, in Northern Cambodia, lies on the shore of South East Asia's biggest lake, and not too far from the Thai border, to which is connected by some incredibly poor road system....basically a long strip of dirt road, dotted by endless, huge potholes. Rumours want that it is kept in this state on purpose, so that the bulk of tourists (as opposed to the majority of travellers) will use the up and coming local airlines instead.

Siem Reap is home of the the Angkor temples complex, with Angkor Wat as its jewel, which dominates the area, and the hearts and minds of most visitors, and its said to be the biggest temple in the world.
