Well, despite my best efforts nate managed to get me to wake up and hop on a train to Munich (My god I have a lot of travelogues to update. This is serious work folks, hope youre appreciating it.)
The train though, luckily enough, managed to be just incredible. These germans know how to make their trains nice and arrive well on time, and if it wont be, they tell you! There´s a lot of countries that could learn from this ´cough´thailand´cough.´ Jokes aside though, it went quite smoothly and we got into town with plans to find our wonderful hostel before the game took off. Unfortunately we didnt, so we just ditched our stuff with some random bum, paid him 1 dollar not to steal it, and set a monkey to watch him just in case. We then proceeded to the side of the road somewhere that sold beers cheap, and watched germany give ecuador a pounding.
And so we went off that night to try to get into some trouble. Berlin had been rather tame, so we decided that a 8 euro bottle of vodka, some soda and some ruckusing would be a good idea. Well, the vodka certainly happened. In the metro we managed to lose ken somehow, those places are confusing, and we were down to two people to get into trouble. We had heard tell of a wonderful bar that I can no longer remember the name of, which we somehow managed to find. It looked incredible.
Off we went, hopes high, to the bouncer, smiles plastered on our faces. He looked us up and down, and with three short words our hopes were crushed
¨Sorry, Members only¨
Booooooooooo. We asked a fellow clubgoer in the line who politely informed us that that just meant they didnt like us. I hate not being liked.
So we went off in search of another place to continue our drinking ways. Through a few back alleys we saw, lo and behold, another club that was bumping. We tried marching in, but were yet again stopped. ¨Sorry, you are dressed too much like hip hop to go here. If you change, maybe you can come, but like this, no¨
Well, that put an end to our adventurous night. Back we went to the hostel to prepare for another fabulous day in europe.
We spent the next day at the fan fest, watching mexico win or lose as far as I can remember, which isn't a heck of a lot. I do recall that they were given a rather easy penalty shot, and despite their noisemaker shaking and yelling and la bambaing, it didn´t seem to help. We anticipated rain in the afternoon, so after a short period of thumping some people on the foosball table we walked away champions and headed back to the hostel, in order to make some more preparations.
This night we first watched england pull out a close victory, even though we weren´t quite sure who to pull for. We met up with some random aussies who seemed to be drinking pink vodka, as manly as it is. We made a point of it this night to attempt to go inside a club instead of the lineup. We were entirely successful.
Once inside, we noticed tequila shots were 3 euros. This was the end of the night.
That night when we got back we decided that it would be in our best interest to head off to Prague, and went about booking our hostels. It was also decided that we should book more than one hostel....more to follow hehehe
