... which would work, because most ancient architecture has lots of holes or is falling down.
Anyway, the point is... WE'RE BACK ON THE ROAD AGAIN! or plane... why does this have to be so difficult.
Well, I'll fill you in on the events of the last few days.
It's been a whirlwind, the last week and a half. Moving out of our apartment, Gabrielle's parents coming to Winnipeg to make some sort of record for the longest distance travelled for the least amount of visit time, and quitting our jobs, only to end it all by packing up all of our things and going traveling again. Work finished Friday, and we've left Tuesday morning... what the heck were we thinking.
But we're here now, sitting in transit to London in Chicago's O'Hare Airport, having strangely managed to not only land here early, but we've also gotten to our new gate with little difficulty. It's too easy... that or we're actually getting good at this! I'm gonna go with the second one 'cause it boosts my ego.
Normally a good idea is to leave a week or so between quitting your job and moving out of your apartment / house and traveling - giving yourself enough time for everything to percolate before you leave in between all of your packing and last minute visiting. We decided to forgo this option - foolishly - very foolishly - and are paying for it with exhaustion, over-packed bags, and a lack of realization that we're actually going on a trip.
So it's back into travel blog writing! Forgive us a bit while we get the hang of this again. It's been awhile since we last did this on the road. Having read over some of our past blogs, we're going to try and improve our writing and descriptions as well, leaving you with a more vivid experience - enhanced by the power of our new and vastly improved cameras. Prepared to have your socks 'wowed' off. If you aren't wearing any, put some on for the sole purpose of having them ejected across the room.
First stop, London England for a 24 hour tour. This will be followed by Portugal, Spain, Morocco, more Spain, a brief interlude in Spain, even more Spain, finished off with a boat. Then France, Italy, Spain... again, New York, and a circuitous route back to Winnipeg which we haven't booked yet but may involve Boston and the French speaking part of our home and native land... well, one of our home's and quasi-native lands.
Ok! So it's started now. Are you 'wowed' yet? I know I will be the second I actually realize where we're going. In the mean time, I hope the airplane gives out some peanuts.
All our best in Transit, and needing much sleep
