The weather was crap but I took this Sandmemans tour, while the other two woke up at 3:30pm. A few of the highlights:
* Glockenspiel (the cool clock that performs a war scene twice a day)
* Story of Oktoberfest
* Seeing the sights of Hitler's Munich Beer Putsch and Kristallnacht
* History of beer gardens - we heard this outside the world famous Hofbrauhaus
Back in the hotel
Tow succeeded with this 1 - for 28 Euro each we stayed in a mad hotel with a pool and sauna, so we spent about 2 hours in the recreation area. The best part was when Tow was in the sauna, Deutsch filled a bucket with cold shower water, opened the sauna door and tipped it all on Tow. It's so funny when Tow's the victim.
Our night
I wanted to do yet another Sandemans tour, the Munich Beer Challenge, where they take you to several beer halls and beer gardens incl. Hofbrauhaus, have beer races, and sing songs about beer. The other guys were too hungover from last night, so we barred that, but later went to check out Hofbrauhaus. We got there at 11:45pm but they were closing and wouldn't let us in - the world's most famous beer hall, and it closes before midnight. So dumb. We ended up having a beer at Schneiders beer hall but it wasn't nearly as good as the other one looked, thus we missed out on the one uniquely Munich experience we wished to do.
