We took a couple of days and went up to South Dakota. We had to see Mt. Rushmore (not bad) and the Crazy Horse Monument (not impressive). We did enjoy the trip to the crazy horse monument just because Eric is thoroughly entertaining and we made fun of the incomplete statue and the tour guide. Good times.

Nell, Laura and I went to the Badlands the next day. That place is ridiculous. I've never seen anything like it. It really doesn't look like it belongs on this planet. And it comes out of nowhere. You drive into the park, drive on the road for a couple hundred yards and this completely alien landscape appears. I don't know how to describe it so I'll just post pictures.

Nell was nice enough to do some yoga poses for me, so some of the pictures are pretty cool.

We spent the afternoon exploring the park and taking a ton of pictures.

Side note: The drive up there was miserable because it took longer than expected and we couldn't agree where to stay. But the trip to the Badlands made up for whatever troubles we had.
