There's a section of Bangkok called Bangkrajao, and it has been called Bangkok's Green Lung by Time Magazine. It's an area where new building and development is restricted, and it looks and feels utterly different from the rest of modern Bangkok. Amazingly, it's only about 20 minutes from our condo by cab and then a quick ferry across the Chao Praya. Lindsey, Jackie and I went with Debs and Samuil for an afternoon of biking around the area. We rented bikes for a few dollars and cruised around all day. The small paths have mangroves on both sides and take you through sections of houses reminiscent of rural Thailand. Then we went over to the park and rode around some more while Jackie and Samuil kayaked in the lagoon. Beautiful day.
