Flag of Malaysia  , Wilayah Persekutuan,

I have somewhere between little and nothing to say about the caves.  The giant statue at the entrance is the largest Murugan statue in the world.  The Malaysian Hindus are pretty proud that they were able to outdo India in this regard, and we heard about it several times.  The statue is obviously impressive and is the focal point of visits to the cave for non-Hindus.  For the religious, there are important shrines inside, and a festival of penance occurs once a year and involves body piercings and heavy objects, always a dangerous mix.

I thought all the smaller statues were also impressive.  I know very little about Hindu mythology and the pantheon aside from what I remember from reading the Ramayana several years ago.  So I've labeled the statues I could.  Enjoy the photos.
