Cusco - Last Day
Trip Start Mar 08, 2005
19Trip End Mar 29, 2005
It was a gorgeous day. And since the busses, trains, and taxis didn't run yesterday, the air was clean and the view was better than ever.
I don't have much to tell, but I have some pictures that tell a story of sorts. This town is touristy, but the poverty can't always be hidden. We found some parts of town that most tourists probably don't visit. We went to the local mercado which doesn't sell trinkets and post cards. They sell clothing for the locals, fruits, vegetables, and meat in a form I have never seen
So tomorrow - Machu Picchu. Two days there and we were planning on going to La Paz. But there have been some road blocks and other issues because the people are trying to force the president to step down. So we'll see.
Also, I forgot to mention the other day, there was another great protest. It was the Coca farmers. They're the angriest of all. Why? Because the U.S. military keeps dropping poison on there crops from planes. And by the way, coca makes more than Cocaine.
God Bless America and the oppression of foreign citizens!
I probably won't update while in Machu Picchu. And if I don't post after that, it's because I joined the communist revolution in Bolivia.
