We arrived in Richmond without incident. We spent a few weeks with my parents. It was really wonderful. Going back to visit parents has such a different dynamic than living with them. I enjoyed the feeling of equality as opposed to the classic parent/child situation I had known for so long. We drove around and enjoyed fall on the East Coast. It was gorgeous. We relaxed and played games, sat out on the deck and had quiet dinners, wandered around Washington D.C., talked about our upcoming travels. We weren't just killing time before our trip. We really enjoyed it. And I think my parents did too.
