After watching one of the obligatory Court TV style programmes that are shown first thing in the morning here and Family Feud, which is the American version of Family Fortunes (hosted by "Al" of Home Improvement fame for those of you who are interested), it was time to head back to the local visitor centre to check out how likely it would be for us to successfully visit Yosemite.

At the centre we were taken care of by a lovely old white haired lady, who was sporting a Noel Edmonds bright coloured jumper. Although she had a slightly distracting quiver of the hand, that we attributed to either Parkinson's disease or alcoholism, she gave us the fantastic news that we could park our car in Yosemite and then catch a shuttle bus around the rest of it. This means that we could look around it, without having to potentially fit snow chains to our tyres.

Thinking it was a little late to visit the park today, we made another attempt to get online at the internet cafe. Whilst it was open this time, we were slightly surprised to be told by the staff at 1.45pm that they were due to shut in 15 minutes time, when their website said they were open until 8pm. Still we didn't want them spitting in our coffee when we eventually returned to use their computers, so we didn't say anything.

Fortunately for our online needs, we had a bit of a brainwave and decided to head to the local library to see if they had access to the internet there. This proved to be a good plan because they had about nine computers and you could use them for a hour at a time, even if you weren't a member of the library. To be honest I think we could have got permission to use the computers for the rest of the day, as our accents again went down well with the staff, with one of them saying "just keep talking, I love your accents".

Both Lynne and I felt a bit rotten today and I think this and our feelings of lethargy are down to the junk food diet that we've been on since landing. I long for fresh fruit and vegetables, or any food that isn't deep fried and smothered in grease, sadly I don't think that my wish is going to come true until we get to Fiji. Although I've been led to believe that if you come into contact with the tap water out there, you won't be eating anything at all and will be on an instant diet plan for a few days!
