The next morning we woke up to check out and move to Happy Inn Lodge. We left our stuff there and went to wander Interlaken...which is pretty small. We decided to walk up to some mountain...it seemed closer than it was haha. But we eventually got up to it and decided to go up a little bit. There were these cute houses in the mountains. It was so nice and peaceful. At 3 we checked into our new hostel. It's a cool hostel. The bottom floor is a bar and the then the top is the hostel. Our room was us and four other people. They changed every day.
At evening we went to the Coop (grocery store) and got wine. We drank it by the river, walked around, chilled. Basically, interlaken is a place for extreme sports and hanging out to enjoy nature. Day 1 and 2 were for the latter. Unbelievably beautiful nights here.
Today we woke up to sound of some roomies packing up to leave. We Cooped it up and Jeff got me some birthday flowers.
Breathtaking
At 4, we were picked up to go white water rafting....i've wanted to do this for the longest time! We were given our wet suits which made us look like superheroes and made us feel packaged in like sausages. Then we got a tutorial and then it was time to hit the waters! We drove out with the crew. We hit some really sweet waters. Whenever we got too close to a larger rock we all had to man down into the raft. We hit a few rocks and couldn't get out of our spots a few times.We had to relocate at one point and when i was getting out I fell into some deep holes by the shore and bruised myself. This next run was even better...the waves were a lot more tumbly! At one point we all jumped out and then tried to get back into the raft...uhhh a lot harder than it looks. Some guy was helping me get in and I lost control of my body because I could not stop laughing. He pulled me in and I just plopped in haha. At one point we also flipped the raft over. haha me and the other girl in the raft both ended up directly under it so we had to swim out. And then people started losing oars and i was trying to grab them while swimming to the raft. It wa awesome.
We sailed on a bit and then all of a sudden we sailed out onto Lake Brienz and what a magnificent sight that was! And what a feeling!!! It was just us on this little raft with these huge gorgeous mountains all around on this beautiful huge lake. Breathtaking. We jumped out into the lake and swam to shore. Wow was the water cold!!!! Best birthday ever though!!!
