Feb. 14 Happy Valentine's day!  We are waiting for Cliff and Sally to arrive.  They are stopping in, it is their last day in PR so the plan was to go out for lunch.  I asked a neighbour where to go and found out that on Monday most of the restaurants are closed, or because it is Valentine’s day they will be very busy.  I decide that we will have lunch here.  I went out to get a few things and stopped at Walgreens (haven’t found a CVS Pharmacy here, yet).  The line ups were long and the shelves with Valentine stuff was just about empty, I did look to see if they were on sale already, no, not yet.

We had a great lunch and lots of talking.  Sally and Cliff left to their hotel for a cat nap and then off to the airport for 1 a.m.  Cliff has a very bad back right now and Sally is left to get them packed and away.

Our Valentine outing was a trip to the local casino.  It was very busy, there was a live band with a singer and couples got up and danced.  It was fun watching them.  They also had draws for money throughout the evening.  I learned my numbers fast as they were all in Spanish.  Len was lucky and I

donated.  The final drawing was just as we were leaving, I stood by the membership desk and when the woman, announcing the numbers, saw me then called the numbers in English too.  Still no luck at winning.

Nov. 15  Today we move back upstairs to one of the newer apartments.  We are packed and take our belongings up and then bring the missing utensils up to the new place.  After cleaning up behind us we spend the afternoon at the pool.  Today was an easy day.

Nov. 16.  We are going back to Aguada to walk the beach and look for more sea glass.  It is a very cloudy day so not too hot and the breeze off the ocean is very cool.  We didn’t take the camera with us, forgot it in the back of the car.  We pass a man who has just come to fish with a net.  I said to Len it feels like we are in Mune in Vietnam, there were always fishermen with nets along the beach.  A group of white and grey birds were hovering on the beach around the bucket he brought for the catch.  He caught one fish while we walked by, but on our way back he was packing it in with just the one fish.  He said he would be back when the water wasn’t so rough.

We did find some sea glass and walked and walked the sandy beach.  On our way home we stopped at a roadside stand and got a pineapple and watermelon.  Hope they are good.  Stopped in at the Econo Grocery store and got some steaks to bbq and Bailey’s, the 750 ml bottle was on sale for $16.95 – that same bottle is $29.95 back home.   I bought 2, they are small!  The steak was delicious.  It rained quite a lot last night.  I did a load of laundry between drops.  Met a young woman from New Jersey, originally from Amsterdam, unloaded her drying and was folding when she came in.  I put her next load in as I wanted the washer.  Mr. surfer came in.  I think he had a bad laundry day.  No one was kind enough to put his morning load of towels into the dryer, so now he was washing them again.  His first load was just finished.  I got mine done and in the dryer.  Folded Mr. sufer’s towels and put the 2nd load in the dryer.  No need for him to come out in the rain, I stopped by and called into his window that I had done the change.

Nov.  17  We head out to the beach early today.  The surfers tell us the big waves are coming over the weekend and should peak on Tuesday.  We go down to Surfer’s beach and had a look.  No sea glass on the beach, lots of guys out there surfing.  We then go to a little beach before Wilderness, Beach.  We walk up and down the beach and find some sea glass.  We are on our own here.  Then to Crash Boat Beach, we made it there before lunch hour.  We have to go by a high school and the traffic is busy and crazy some days.  The police are always parked after the intersection, sure wish some days they would direct traffic on the corner instead of just sitting and watching.  The beach isn’t busy we find a spot in the shade and have our lunch.

We meet a group of 6 from New York, just here for a week and enjoying it all.  Len goes in for a snorkel and I read my book.  Great time just people watching.

The pineapple was just perfect, mmm good!
