December 26
Not a sale to be found around:(

I spent the day in bed, still not feeling too good. Len was out, but not too far, he made sure I ate well and drank lots of water. The choice of TV channels is much better here with CNN, Fox and several movie channels in English. I dozed and watched tv all day.

Breakfast and lunch were easy, but what to have for diner when you're not feeling well, so I settled on spaghetti with tomato sauce. Len went out for diner and bought back the spaghetti. I uncovered the dish and that is what it was spaghetti, no tomato sauce! I was disappointed and it didn't even taste nice, so it was toast and herbal tea.

December 27

Feeling better this morning, we head down the road to have breakfast, where Len got the spaghetti. They advertise free internet and wi-fi. First Len returns the bowl and says there's no tomato sauce - the manager says yes it has. Len shows him it is all just spaghetti, no red at all in there. The manager says it is spaghetti with tomato sauce. Len just looked at him with great disbelief!

Len then asks if the wi-fi he is connected to is his, he says no we don't have wi-fi. Will have to take a picture of the sign! So we ordered scrambled eggs for breakfast and get on line to speak to some of the family. The first meal brought was two eggs sunny side up - oops! Len takes those and I say I would like scrambled eggs. I think the manager was a bit ticked with us staying there for so long on our computer and talking to everyone while his customers came and went. He did put on some music to drown us out but it didn't work. We stayed until we were finished.

Len borrowed the scooter from the manager here (sure is a very nice lady), and went to Lonely Beach the next village to get some Tylenol and snacks and barbequed chicken!. The day we walked to Lonely Beach we stopped for bbq chicken legs for lunch and it was so very good so he brought some more home, and now that we have a fridge we will have chicken for lunch instead of cheese sandwiches.

We tidied up the cottage and then Len went for a swim around the Bay and I sat on the porch and read and watched new people move in. Len came back and we played our cross crib games, I won the first three games and then Len won the next four! We enjoyed the view on the porch until the sun started setting and the heat hit the front. We then went up stairs over the reception/restaurant. We sat and read, watched the Bay and were surprised at how far the water had gone out, we noticed the days are getting longer, the sun sets just before 6 now. There are mats, made in Thailand, that are very comfy and really unique. Shortly the sun finds us up there and we try to find a bit of shade, most have left the beach area as there are clouds on the horizon and no sunset tonight. We also watched some big red ants crawl all along the railings, back and forth, greeting each other as they pass. I ran my finger across one of the rails and the ants stopped in their tracks and tried to figure out what it was, some turned around and went back, some went down and then over my scent. Soon it faded and they continued on their own way. We looked at the thatched roof and wondered if each row of thatching (bought by the row we are sure) was done by hand or by a machine. Did it come from Home Depot or Rona? Just kidding. With the sunset we head indoors until most of the mosquitoes are gone. We try a new place for diner, we both have a cashew dish, mine is chicken with vegetables and cashews, I got 2 and ½ cashews. Len's diner came next, chicken with pineapple and cashews, he got about 12 cashews! He did share with me, reason number 444 why I love him. He did think I should go over the list from the #1 reason again. I said I would later. With my meal coming first I was finished first and noticed the thatched roof here, a completely different way of binding it together, must have come from Lowes!

Went for a walk to the ATM, spoke with a British couple at an internet shop who have lived here for 6 years, quite interesting learning about this little village and the goings on, the tourist industry today, the Tsunami that hit 4 years ago on the 26th, when all the tourists who had booked Phuket ended up coming to this island and the tourist industry boomed here for 2 years until Phuket was rebuilt. They told us where we are at Green Cottages was built by a Thai soap opera movie star.

We then came back home and watched a movie and then Hairspray came on and we stayed up and watched it. We are trying to figure out who the lead plump girl's Mom is and where she played in what before? Let us know if you have the answer.

Hairspray
Which version of the movie were you watching? The newer one was John Travolta, but I never saw the first one to be able to tell you who that was.
