We had the day free in Flores and I decided to not do a lot. I did go for a walk around the town. Flores isn't a large place, so it was easy to get to everywhere by walking. The roads looked pretty dodgy for driving on as well, so walking definitely seemed the best option.
After lazing around for most of the day, caught up with Daryl and Simon and we found a cheap café near the lake front. I ordered some delicious chicken soup and some whiskey to try and fix my lasting sore throat. Either the soup or the whisky helped because I felt much better afterwards.
After a group meeting in the evening we tried some Tostadas (like big corn chips) covered in a mince/tomato paste, that were sold from someone kitchen. They were tasty but I struggled to swallow them with my sore throat.
We went back to the same café that we'd visited earlier, taking advantage of the 2 beers for Q15 (about NZ$4) until they closed. Beverly and Daryl (the kiwi couple) and Milton (our tour leader) joined us. We stayed till they closed, then went in search of somewhere else. We found an even cheaper bar (only Q6 per beer), but since it was Sunday they were soon shutting up too.
