Show trip route
We walked out of our hotel and straight onto Hollywood Boulevard so, because the weather was nice, we walked down Hollywood Boulevard looking at the stars that are inlaid into the pavement. We saw loads of really famous ones, like Harrison Ford, and some not so expected ones like the Monkees.
Across the road from our hotel was the Grauman's Chinese Theatre (with the handprints) and the Kodak Theatre (where the Oscars are held).
From one of our bedroom windows, we could see the Hollywood sign on the hilltop.
We walked back down the other side of the road and walked through crowds of people dressed up and impersonating celebrities and superheros (mostly superheroes), asking you if you'd like to take a picture with them. Spiderman must have thought that he was trying especially hard because he was crouched in the bottom level of some street scaffolding and spurting out things like 'Do you need a friendly neigbourhood web-slinger?' to which some people thought was hilarious.
Once through this, we passed the Virgin shop where loads of black men were hassling passers-by to listen to their records and then trying to sell them to you for $10 each. They didn't seem to take 'no' for an answer very well, or 'I don't like rap music'.
Hattie also took me to Rodeo Drive, and we walked past all the usual suspects who are becoming blase to me, like Gucci, Chanel, etc. and I also got taken to Barney's to look at shoes. Hattie says that she doesn't want go again until New York because I'm crap and don't go 'Ooh!' at the right pair of shoes or something. She's waiting for when her mum and sister come so that they can go 'Ooh! instead of me.
