I've been remiss in keeping this site up to date but have been busy with work. We continued to do surveys in slum areas until Nov 30..whether it was.rain, wind, or shine. Meseret and I and a few volunteers managed to get 135 completed which was a bit under target but hey...there were some major obstacles. Meseret left last week and I was in the field for a couple of days on my own. She headed back to Ethiopia. We had a great time and I will miss her.. on the up side I have an open invitation to visit but wouldn't mind a work contract there sometime.
Said goodbye to our driver....good riddance really.....his driving became more erratic and scary during the last few days and I let out a few screams from the back seat while we were sandwiched inbetween two moving vans on the expressway. (they were both going in the other direction!) Saldy seems to think if he keeps his flashers on no rules apply
When I cam home from the field I took off for a few days rest on Palawan Island. Its just a short plane trip but felt a universe away. Clear water, coral, sun, beach, cozy hut and an italian chef to cook dinner every night!. I'm in Manila now for the next week to write up reports (but I am in full on holiday mode). After that we are heading to Bicol to try an snorkel with whale sharks who migrate through the waters this time of year. Back over to Palwan for Christmas and then home....YES...I'm quite home sick lately. I hope it passes.
OK...will post some photos shortly. Just wanted to give you all an up date. Hope you all are well....and have a restful and happy christmas season.
