The next day we arrive at the port only to find that our boat to the island is running a little late..... 8.5 hours late. I knew they were going to be relaxed on the Caribbean Coast but this was taking it a little too far. So we got to the Island after many many games of cards with our new crazy English friend Will. We hit bar Tranquella for a few beers, which were needed after the stressful day we had put in. The bar has a really nice jetty/sitting area where Will and Eli proceeded to donate many pints of blood, via their ankles, to the poor little sand flies and mosquiteos
The next day, we decided to rent a little golf buggy, lots of them on this Island but very few cars which is cool. We went to one end of the island and took in a little snorkeling. I loved this, it was amazing. The Hounduras coast has the second biggest barrier reef in the world. It was a bit of a challenge at times for me, because of my lack of swimming ability but it was well worth it.
On the way back into town we made the mistake of letting Will drive the Buggy. He proceeded to crach it into a steel poll, run down two little girls, and barely miss a 8ft high wall before driving it into someones driveway.... good man will. That was the end of his buggy driving days.
The 13th of Nov was my birthday and we were determined that it would be one to remember, We started in bar Tranquella for a few beers and moved onto Treetanic bar, this is the most amazing and dangerous bar ive ever been to. It has a bar thats built into tree tops, its like a tree house, little caves, swings, bridges all over the show. Savage spot!!! But things went a little pare shaped after a few coctails. (Im pretty sure it was the whiskey one that did the damage). We were in the tree house bar chatting to an oz chick and two german birds when they started playing Green Day, big mistake. After a few shoulder rides, jumping, and general tom foolery i somehow managed to get a nasty cut on my elbow. Will looked at it and said it was fine, Eli said it was only a scratch but when I could see the elbow joint sticking out from the cut i was pretty sure it needed a bit of a bandage at least.
We called to Dr. John, the Islands residant doc, and after an injection in my elbow, another in my ass and 11 stitches I was back on the streets. After this we were pretty sure it was time to get off the Island, and so on the 14th nov we left Utila. Deffo the most beautiful beachs, i have ener seen.
Back to the boat, with one good arm and barely a good foot between us.
