It´s hard to really describe the grandeur of a place like Petra in words.  If you have seen places like the Great Wall of China, Angkor Wat, or the Pyramids at Giza then you know what I am talking about.  Petra is absolutely massive in size and ranks among the greatest man-made marvels in the World. 

When I arrived here all I really knew about Petra was what I had seen on ´Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade` where they show the Al Khazneh (the Treasury) as the place storing the Holy Grail.  This was just one of the amazing buildings here of which there are literally hundreds that stretch out along the valley walls for several kilometers.  Some of the more impressive sites include a large amphitheater cut out of the hillside, the Urn Tomb, and the Monastery which it lies at the top of several hundred steps up the cliff-side.
