The walk there included some interesting trails. Everyone else shows you the vineyards of tuscany, but who else shows you the real food ... the fava beans!
Siena was beautiful. The duomo gleamed in the sunlight and the narrow winding streets were very steep!
Not having enough hiking we climbed to the top of the Duomo, too.
After Siena, our strolls took us to Montereggioni -- a very small but completely walled-in town
After leaving there, our strolls took us first through some beautiful poppy fields
And then we were off to San Gimignano. During the heyday and fighting of renaissance Tuscany, all the warring families built towers for protection. Unlike most of the Tuscan towns, San Gimingnano still has over a dozen left.
Well it is time to go drink some wine and eat some fava beans.
