Woke up this morning feeling A-OK, despite the shenaningans of the night before - Charmaine looks like death warmed up.  Missed our buffet breakfast but manage to get a coffee which is good.  Read that the Red Shirts are on their way to paralyse traffic in the City and decide to rest up and plan for our next few days post-Bangkok.

Well actually Charmaine sleeps, wakes up and then I'm feeling like death warmed up, so I sleep.  But plans are made for our day of Wat looking (Buddhist Temples) around Bangkok the next day and we decide to go in and book our train tickets to Phitsunulok (1hr from Sukhothai which has some ancient temple runis etc) the following day as well.

We put our ill-feeling down to the whole 4 hour jet lag we experienced and not the many Singha's and buckets of spirits we had the night before.  Seems like a good justification in our books.

Nothing more to say for today save for the fact that we were treated to a day's worth of amplified protest action coming from a few blocks away where the main Red Shirt protest is happening.  See many Thais in Red Shirts driving by the bridge near our hotel.  Motorbikes, cars and utes all packed with Red Shirts and red flags honking their horns as well as pedestrians in their red shirts.

We do check out the roof top bar/sunbathing area of the hotel which is very nice.  Get a bit different perspective from the view compared with our room.  But that blasted noise from the Red Shirts / speeches and singing and huge cheers is a very surreal experience.  At least they all seem to be in good spirits and not aggro (not that we got close enough to test out their temperament).  The paper says that there were around 50,000 protesters in Bankok today so looks like it will be a long night.

Also took a video of our room and view from suite 515.  Some people think my cinematography has a lot to be desired, but I beg to differ...
