Where I stayed
Today we got settled around noon and set off 40 minutes North to Hershey. I had no idea Hershey was so big! Mr. Milton Hershey has built up quite a community next to THE BIGGEST CHOCOLATE FACTORY IN THE WORLD! (Every time the tour guide says that we cheer really loud....so she gives us more chocolate! .....Pavlov's dogs, I tell you....)
So Mr. Hershey was quite a guy. He tried to sell carmel in several cities and failed. Many times. But [fortunately for us}, he perservered!! One day he decided to try to make chocolate and it worked
We toured Hershey World. Watched a BIG 3D movie about...you guessed it....chocolate. Learned to be taste testers! Got a certificate too! Took a tour (movie of the factory) which was like the Haunted House ride at Disney, without the ghosts. And we took a trolley ride through the town with two actors telling us all about the history.
We bought too many souveneirs. Too much chocolate! And had a great day!
When we got "home", the kids found the little stream in the campground. People were catching trout. So now they want to go fishing. There are millions of fireflies here. Especially blinking around the corn fields at dusk.
Tomorrow we are going to explore Philadelphia. Liberty Bell, Independance Hall!
The kids got to talk to Closer Gramma today. They were pretty excited to tell her about the chocolate factory.
