We slept in until 9:15 this morning!  Nice!

Went to breakfast for Father's Day at the hotel cafe for all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet with cooked to order omlettes.  Just as we sat down (luckily on the 12th floor), it started to drizzle outside!  It cleared up quickly, but it was a hot and humid day.

We barely made it to 1:00 mass at the Cathedral of St. Patrick.  They have  a mass every 1/2 hour!  Fastest mass I've ever been to!  It was very ornate, amazing detail - the ceilings were so tall!!

We took a cab to the pier and enjoyed a 75 minute cruise around the harbor.  Got to see the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the construction of where the Twin Towers once stood.  Took lots of pictures!  When we got back to shore, we let the kids take their shoes off and play in the water shoots (?).  They had a great time getting soaking wet. There was also a little water play area with pumps and water wheels that Ben was interested in most of the time.

We squished into another cab (four wide in the back seat - seatbelts optional!) and headed back to the hotel for a change of clothes.  Found an Irish pub just a couple blocks away, Pig n' Whistle.  Great food!  Ben got his grilled cheese, the girls had steak & fries, I had a shrimp cobb and Phil had shepard's pie with his Guiness.

We are gettting to bed early tonight.  Have to catch a limo to New Jersey at 6:45.  We are going to take a ferry to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.  You have to stand in line early to get tickets at 8:30.

Thank you for all your comments!!

On our agenda:  Back to DC on Wed; Camping in Pennsylvania for 2 days; off to Boston for a few days including 4th of July; Buffalo, NY by the 7th, Canada;St. Louis.....
