Where I stayed
Foley Farm Barn
Arrived on schedule at 6.30 am and cleared the airport by 7.30. Rented a VW from Enterprise, the brakes grab, thank God for seat belts. England is enjoying some really warm weather and the car's A/C doesn't work! Have you tried hurtling around the M25 at 150 mph, keeping up with the locals, trucks both sides and the windows down.
We went to Brooklands, home of an aviation and motoring museum housed at the former Brooklands motor racing circuit (last race there was in 1939). Some of the original banking is still there. Also home of Vickers, aviation manufacturing up until the war. We saw lots of neat old race cars, Malcolm Campbell, John Cobb era. The airplanes were in need of some TLC. Lots of pictures to be added later.
I haven't lost my glasses yet but I did leave my secure pouch hanging in the bathroom, with all my cash and passports. Somebody turned it in to the cashier in the Café and she realised it must belong to that little short ass with the funny accent and she returned it to me. I didn't know I had lost it. So this bodes well for a successful trip.
The GPS brought us right to the door of Foley Farm Barn, a 600 year old barn converted to a beautiful B&B. Full English breakfast tomorrow!!!!!!!!
