It's a long drive from Queenstown to Milford Sound. The scenery to The Sound is amazing, particularly from Te Anau..so there are lots of stops along the way to take photos. Sue and Harry the Aussie couple we hung out with in Queenstown were just getting off a Catamaran when we arrived so we had a chat and organised to meet for a glass of vino later that evening. We got on the 1.15pm boat and did a trip around The Sound and out to the Tasman Sea. The boat turns around and the coast is exactly as the first explorers would have seen it. Totally untouched. We stopped to see some seals who were lounging on a rock on the way in and got sprayed by a waterfall. We went back to Te Anau that evening which is a base for alot of people who visit Milford Sound. Not much to do in the town so we just did some laundry, met Sue and Harry for a drink, cooked dinner, went for a walk and went to bed
