So, we flew from the West coast of Oz across to the East coast - as you do. Gold Coast was really nice. We stayed at Surfers Paradise, which some Australians view as a bit of a hole but we thought it was grand. Probably more of a hole at 1am when people spill out of the pubs, but we're getting old so we didn't experience that side of it. The final day of the Indie Races were on when we arrived so Michael went to check that out. He wasn't allowed anywhere near the track, security was tight. Bumped into Jen and Keith on the beach - they were on our Whitsunday cruise so organised to hook up with them later that evening. Was good to see them again. Next day we went to the beach, the water was significantly warmer than in Perth! We'd a great time, the waves were massive. Knocked us about a bit but we kept going back for more. Hooked up with Michael's cousin that evening who brought us to see a few more cousins. Great catching up with them all..they were really welcoming and delighted to see their long lost cousin!
