Saturday: It's amazing what twelve hours of sleep does to a guy. The breakfast was awesome, yogurt, egg, bread, fruit, and the best cheese I've ever eaten; bar none. It was a welcome change to my plain bread meals I've had for the past two days. I explored Bayeux's Notre Dame church, and then headed for the train station. It was only 9:00, and my train didn't board until 10:33, but I was too tired to explore the town; and the famous tapestry costs a whopping 10-euro to see, lame. As I'm walking up to the station, I see a train pulling up. Its labeled Paris St. Lazare; jackpot. I wasn't aware there was an earlier train, so I hop on, thankful for the early departure. Since I was now catching an earlier train, I was hoping that I could exchange my Paris-Cologne ticket for an earlier time. After navigating through the rats nest that is the Paris Train Station, I was able to exchange my ticket with no problems. The family sitting by me on the train ride to Cologne perplexed the hell out of me. They were constantly switching between immaculate English, German and French mid sentence. I had no idea what their mother language was; every time they spoke a language it sounded as if they had spoken it their entire life. I got home in time to watch the opening game of the Eurocup at home; Switzerland vs. Czech Republic. Switzerland got knocked out easily. Then it was Turkey vs. Portugal. Portugal's striker had a field day out there, scoring one absolutely beautiful goal. Amazingly, neither game ended in a shoot out as so many national team games do.
