I got off the train in good spirits and quickly found a sign pointing in the direction of "Operation Overlord: Landing Beaches". Well, the retard that installed these signs led me through a 2km stroll ending up where I began. After fuming for a minute, I went to a public city map I found on my wanderings, wrote down some directions, and went on my way. Only 12km to go. For the next two and a half hours, I walked along French country roads; taking in the smells, sounds, and sights. I'm very glad I chose to do this. By 2:30 I was at the beaches, with one piece of the artificial harbor visible in the city light. Obviously, no hotels or hostels are open at this hour, and I prepared for that. I put on my wind breaker, laid a towel down underneath a tree in a farmers field, and passed out for a few hours.
