For Christmas we spent five nights in a four and a half star resort called the Sarann in Koh Samui. We had a lovely room with a big jacuzzi and a massive bath too :) unfortunately the weather there wasn't too great but we did manage to catch a few rays around the lovely pool on a couple of days, we got burnt on one day.. Fine line between white and burnt!
We had room number 212 which made George sing "212" the whole time, div. We literally just chilled out here and ate nice food! We took to stealing from breakfast to feed ourselves for free at lunch, hey.. you can take the backpacker out of the hostel...! I tried dragon fruit too, bright pink on the outside, white on the inside.. I loved it!
Christmas away from home was very weird and pretty much a non event but it was nice at the hotel and we watched lots of films and pampered ourselves, both quite homesick at times too. The hotel gave us a stocking with some treats inside, a present and a free cocktail, they even had the smallest Santa we've ever seen handing them out, aww. We took a very long walk down the beach and into Chaweng town for Christmas and instead of a Christmas dinner we had a thai meal and bought ourselves neon tops in preparation for New Years Eve.

We left The Sarann (reluctantly) to go to a bungalo in Lamai, the weather was awful here, very heavy rain so we could not do much at all really. We walked along to see the genital shaped rocks but the tide was in so we didn't see the female part but saw some of the male part sticking out of the sea lol. We wasn't there long though and we made our way to our hostel in Bangrak for New Years where we met Kat and Gemma and her friends. Great hostel with an apartment for a room and free breakfast and wifi, sweet! We managed to wangle a free transfer to the pier (would've cost us about 12 in a taxi otherwise) very grateful for that. Needed to get a ferry across to Koh Phangan for New Year's Eve countdown full moon party and had a return ferry booked for 7am! Pass the bucket!
