This morning we woke to sunshine and the day looked perfect for skiing.  We decided to first take a shuttle bus to Gondola square and have a look around the shops and take our camera, so we could get a few photos.

I had been looking for a windcheater with "Steamboat Colorado" on it and found it at the first shop we went into.
I have postcards that I have had written since we were at Disneyland and I have not been able to find a post box or stamps, so hoped that I would have success.  Nope, they are still in my bag and I will have to go to Main Street to find a post office otherwise we will be home and I will have to post them from there.

Once we arrived back at our Lodge, we suited up and headed back to the slopes for a day of great skiing.  The weather forecast was for a high of  -1 degrees and the sun was shining constantly.  We did a few runs and then stopped for a drink break and leg rest.  We continued on until mid afternoon and wearily went back to our apartment for a well deserved rest. We even managed to get sunburnt.

We tried to book for a few tours but had left our run too late for that day, so tomorrow we will do the snowmobile dinner tour and the following night head off to the hot springs.
So not a high day of adventure but we did what we had come for and that was to ski.  The scenery is spectacular and I found I was skiing down slopes and too busy watching the views and not concentrating on other skiers etc. around me.
There are some great runs on the mountain and we have only accessed half of it so far.  There are a lot of runs that are between the pine trees an after a night of snow, the trees look so pretty. A lot of trails that interconnect and go for quite a distance.
Andrew went up higher today and no doubt will find more great runs tomorrow.  The weather forecasts are for warmer days and even reaching a high of 4 degrees the day we leave.
