So coming back over the border to Spain we saw the SLATs. I tried to take a video but the car was moving too quick and Andrew was worried if we slowed down too much we might get mugged! According to Alvin we even had them give us a finger!

I have decided that pizza in Spain is bad! We now have had two different meals in different locations and both were average. I had a Mediterranean pizza which had asparagus, zucchini, ham and cheese while Andrew had the "Rustica" which he thought had chicken – nope it was tuna!!! A good thing Alvin likes Tuna and was a good sport to swap his meal.

Today's excursion was Figueras – the home of the Dali Museum and probably not much else other than a lot of restaurants for tourists. The Dali Museum was fabulous it was full of quirky painting, sculptures and fine pieces of jewellery.  This place is well worth a visit especially if you really don’t understand art, the verdict from the team was that this place was definitely better than the Guggenheim in Bilbao (art fanatics, yes I know they are different styles etc but for the uneducated viewer that is our verdict).  

Our way home was action packed! The highway was shut due to an accident and the concern for bushfire. They had water bombing helicopters and every emergency service under the sun! Our 1 hour drive took a little longer than expected.

As we were at the beach we couldn’t miss the chance for 1 last swim also the day before we spotted a laundry mat that was 1 euro cheaper a load and took 8kg instead of 6! You thought I was a tight arse before I came here but I am now far worse. The Mediterranean sea is so much water than the Atlantic – you can even swim here without needing a wetsuit.

With dinner being the last one in the unit I decided to cook duck – at Carrefour the various brands of duck breast were amazing. After comparing a few I decided they all looked the same and went for the cheapest! Tonite’s dinner included: duck breast in red wine and cherry sauce with potatoes, baby beans, carrots and zucchini. It was good – I thought I may have undercooked the duck but it was cooked perfectly through!
