Today is a sad but exciting day. I start my backpacking journey but leave my mother along with Korea. This morning started off on the wrong foot. In Korea when parking lots are full, people park right in front of your vehicle but leave their car in neutral so that you can move it. So at 5 this morning we go to push the car that is parked in front of us and his dumbass left his car in neutral but pulled up his emergency brake. So after 30 minutes of tracking him down we finally were able to leave. This will be the first of many challenges ahead of me.

I am writing this entry today to reflect on my journey to my homeland. I had a great time even though my mother and I fought like cats and dogs. I enjoyed things such as eating poisonous puffer fish, going to the chaotic grocery stores and shopping malls where there were sales people every ten feet. The best thing I would have to say about this trip was meeting my family. My mother had over 12 other brothers and sisters (2 have passed) and I would say I had over 30 cousins. It’s a weird feeling to say that I would have been a totally different person if my mother didn’t have me with an American. I will always remember this place for the smells, popular dishes such as Spam, the busy street lights, expensive alcohol from home($140 for a 1/5th of patron), and the oriental looking pine trees. Most of all I will remember the loving people. I will miss Korea, but here I come Malaysia!!!
